ICT Business Breakfast

Nearly 40 companies from the CEE region participated in an Information and Communication Technology (ICT) business breakfast on 19th September, 2014. The breakfast was organised by UK Trade & Investment (UKTI) Hungary and took place at the British Embassy in Budapest.

Opportunities for inward investors in the UK’s ICT sector

The business opportunities for ICT companies in the UK are vast. The UK government’s G-cloud strategy underpins one of the world’s most supportive and promising environments for the continued development of the cloud computing and data centres sector.

The UK’s ICT sector:

  • the UK is Europe’s leader for software and IT services, with a market value of £58 billion per year

  • includes Europe’s largest cloud computing market with a predicted turnover of £6.1 billion by the end of 2014

  • includes the world’s second largest data centre market

ICT business breakfast

His Excellency Jonathan Knott, British Ambassador to Hungary gave the opening speech. This was followed by an overview of the opportunities available in the UK market. Sector specific insights were provided by:

  • Daniel King, Head of High Growth and Emerging Markets, UKTI

  • Terry Mankertz, Senior Sector Lead, UKTI

  • Richard Leaver, Deal Maker, Global Entrepreneur Programme (GEP)

  • Anna Rosloniec, Investment Adviser, UKTI

Participants were then able to discuss the opportunities offered by the UK and share insights over breakfast. The breakfast was followed by a series of pre-booked individual meetings between company and UKTI representatives.
