Carriageway repairs to start on A2 Jubilee Way in Dover, Kent

Work starts this weekend (Saturday 26 April) on the A2 Jubilee Way in Dover to repair manhole covers on the viaduct.

Several manhole covers need repairing to ensure journeys remain safe and reliable. The work will be carried out using overnight carriageway closures with signed diversions in place and is due to be completed in the morning of Friday 9 May.

Highways Agency Asset Manager Kevin Bown said:

Safety is a top priority for the Highways Agency. The repairs will be carried out as quickly as possible so that journeys remain safe and reliable for the tens of thousands of drivers that rely on this route. To minimise the disruption the work will be carried out overnight, when traffic flows are lowest, and removed over the bank holiday weekend.

The work will be carried out overnight, between 8pm and 6am.

The A2 will be closed in both directions between the A258 and A20 with fully signed diversions in place via the A256 and A20.

The work will be carried out in two phases; for six nights from Saturday 26 April and for three nights from Tuesday 6 May.
