Canonry of Saint George's Chapel, Windsor

The Venerable Martin George Poll to be appointed to the Canonry of Saint George's Chapel, Windsor.

The Queen has approved that the Venerable Martin George Poll, BA, Principal Anglican Chaplain and Archdeacon for the Royal Navy, Honourary Chaplain to The Queen and Honourary Canon of Portsmouth Cathedral, in the Diocese of Portsmouth, be appointed to the Canonry of Saint George’s Chapel, Windsor in succession to the Reverend Canon John Anthony Ovenden, MA on his forthcoming resignation in September 2012.

The Venerable Martin Poll (aged 50) was Curate at Mill Hill from 1987 to 1990. He took up his current post as Principal Anglican Chaplain and Archdeacon for the Royal Navy in 2010, He is married to Diana and has a grown up daughter and teenage son. His interest include reading, history, theatre (both as a spectator and amateur participant), music, choral singing (amateur), gardening and relaxing with friends and family.
