Cafcass board members reappointed

John Lakin and Mary MacLeod have been reappointed as board members of the Children and Family Court Advisory and Support Service (Cafcass)

The Secretary of State announced the reappointments of John Lakin and Mary MacLeod as board members of the Children and Family Court Advisory and Support Service (Cafcass) for 3 years from 1 April and 1 May 2015 respectively.

John Lakin previously worked at PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP (1988 to 2011) where he was the partner responsible for Education and Children’s Services Consulting and also Head of Public Sector Policy, Research and Economics. He was appointed as Cafcass board member in April 2012

Mary MacLeod OBE is currently Senior Independent Director and Chair of the Clinical Governance Committee at Great Ormond Street Hospital. She is also Vice Chair of the Internet Watch Foundation, a Trustee of Columba 1400, as well as a Non-executive Director of the Video Standards Council. Mary became Cafcass Deputy Chair in April 2012.

The reappointments have been conducted in accordance with the Commissioner for Public Appointments’ Code of Practice on appointments for public bodies.
