On the occasion of Eid ul Adha, the British High Commissioner to Pakistan, Adam Thomson said:

At this time of year Muslims in Pakistan and across the globe will be celebrating Eid al-Adha and will be sharing their celebrations with friends and family.

As I and my staff share in this very special time, our thoughts will of course turn to those who suffered in the recent horrific terrorists attacks in Peshawar and earthquake in Balochistan.

As a festival which celebrates the importance of giving, charity and tolerance, it is a fitting opportunity for us to recognise and celebrate the common ground between faiths and look to how we can help each other and work for better future for our communities and countries.

On behalf of Her Majesty’s Government, the people of the United Kingdom and my staff in Pakistan, I would like to wish you all Eid Mubarak.
