British High Commission Freetown invites bids for Africa Directorate Programme Fund 2013-14

Bids are invited for the Bilateral Programme and Prosperity Fund of the Africa Directorate for the financial year 2013-14.

This year we will run two programme funds: the Bilateral Fund and the Prosperity Fund and would be looking to allocate a total of £85,000 from the Bilateral Fund and £20,000 from the Prosperity Fund

Both funds are intended to support projects that increase transparency, promote trade and investment, and the implementation effective and efficient tax regimes. Under the Bilateral Fund we are also keen to support projects ideas that prevent sexual violence.

Specifically in 2013/14 we want to support projects which make an impact in the following areas:

  1. Increased reporting, through media and civil society on governance and transparency issues.
  2. Initiatives promoting transparency and reducing corruption in the business environment.
  3. Partners promoting prosperity in Sierra Leone through strengthening existing tax and revenue systems.
  4. Initiatives aiming to reduce gender based violence and promoting fully functioning Human Rights structures.

Please contact the Project Officer terrence.williams2@fco.gov.uk to check the viability of the project. Bidding forms can be provided for suitable projects. Please ensure that all project proposal information is submitted in this format.

We are also keen to support proposals that are to be joint funded by other donors.

When you have a fully worked up proposal please email it by Friday 14 June, 2013. Decisions on bids will be made by 28 June, 2013.
