Volunteers from the British Embassy in Dubai participated on Friday 2nd August, 2013 in the largest donation drive organized by The Community Development Authority to mark the end of the Yestahloon (well deserved) campaign for workers.

Staff from the British Embassy joined other volunteers to distribute donations in reusable bags, included shampoo, deodorant, toothpaste, food commodities, phone cards, dates, and several clothing items to 3,500 blue collar workers at a workers’ accommodation in Al Quoz.

Those items were donated by a number of private companies and not-for-profit organizations for the Community Development Authority’s campaign “Yestahloon”.

Deputy Consul General Ian Gibbons said:

“The Community Development Authority’s Campaign is an impressive initiative. It shows care and compassion for those who are less fortunate in the society and the British Embassy volunteers were more than happy to take part in this good cause”.
