British Embassy staff enjoyed Ramadan Iftar

Staff members from the British Embassy in Dubai led by Deputy Consul General Ian Gibbons enjoyed on Monday 15th July 2013 the Ramadan Iftar at the Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Centre for Cultural Understanding at the Al Fahidi District.

The group learned about the Islamic tradition of fasting and took a casual walk around the Al Fahidi historical site and visited the Diwan Masjid after the Iftar Meal.

During the visit, Deputy Consul General Ian Gibbons said:

Ramadan is a special time in the UAE and around the world. It is a time for reflection and contemplation and for family and friends. We, at the British Embassy in Dubai are keen to share those special moments with our Emirati friends. We were genuinely impressed by the Ramadan Iftar organized by Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Centre for Cultural Understanding. It was a wonderful experience for all of us and it certainly increases awareness and understanding of the UAE culture.
