The Embassy has been active on Twitter for some years, for messaging aimed at British Nationals and for trade audiences. The launch of @UKinFrance is an expansion of these successful ventures, serving the wider French-speaking public.

British Ambassador to France Sir Peter Ricketts (who is also on Twitter as @HMARicketts) said:

I am delighted to announce the launch of our new Embassy Twitter account. Social media is about having conversations, and we want to give people, and especially our French audience, the opportunity to react to our news and to the policies that the United Kingdom is pursuing. Our social media channels are a vital part of engaging in real time with a wider range of opinion in France. I hope you will continue to follow us and let us have your views.

The British network in France now operates the following Twitter accounts:

@UKinFrance: news and views from the British Embassy in Paris.

@BritishinFrance: information for British Nationals in France in France from the British Consular Network

@UKTIFrance: supporting British companies exporting to France and French companies investing in the UK.

@UKTIFranceFR: help and advice for French companies investing in the UK (in French)

@UKOECD: updates from the UK delegation to the OECD

@UKDelCoE: updates from the UK delegation to the Council of Europe

The Embassy is also active on Facebook and Instagram to showcase Embassy and other bilateral events.
