Britain sends condolences after Russia plane crash
The Foreign Secretary William Hague has expressed condolences for the loss of life caused by the Kazan aircrash.
Fifty people including one Briton lost their lives in the capital city of Tatarstan’s tragedy.
The Foreign Secretary said:
I was saddened to learn of the loss of life following yesterday’s aeroplane crash. My thoughts are with the friends and family of those involved. We are providing consular assistance to the family of the British National whose death has now sadly been confirmed, and our British Embassy in Moscow will remain in close contact with the Russian authorities as they respond to this tragedy.
