The Export Credits Guarantee Department (ECGD) has supported its first export deal under the new bond support scheme.

The scheme has supported Glasgow-based CLYDEUNION Pumps’ $15 million deal to provide safety pumps to China. The deal was taken forward during the Prime Minister’s trade visit to China in November 2010.

ECGD’s support for the company, which employs more than 900 people in Scotland and Yorkshire and more than 2,000 worldwide, was arranged through HSBC.
