The full Chevening scholarship covers the cost of tuition fees, a monthly living allowance, a return air ticket, and the cost of a UK visa.

The British Ambassador Giles Lever said:

The UK is proud of its Chevening Scholarship programme. Here in Vietnam we have a great Chevening scheme – enriching and career enhancing for students – and a programme which reflects the UK’s long term commitment to its relationship with Vietnam and the Vietnamese people. This year we have five times as many students going to the UK to study, the highest number ever, and we tripled the amount of funding available for the programme. Chevening is a rewarding scholarship which for the right candidate will be extremely beneficial to their future career. If you are thinking of applying I urge you to do so.

The Scholarships are awarded to outstanding scholars with leadership potential. We are looking for the future leaders, influencers and decision makers of tomorrow. Over the past twenty years, many Chevening alumni have gone on to occupy positions of influence and leadership in different parts of Vietnamese society, both in the private and public sectors.

The Chevening scholarship has allowed ambitious and talented Vietnamese individuals to pursue their dreams for more than 20 years, and has therefore helped cement the UK-Vietnam friendship as it continues to build a strong network of future leaders, opinion formers, and influencers in the country. I look forward to welcoming new members to the Chevening family this year, and seeing them carry on this legacy.

The British Embassy is committed to a policy of equality of opportunity and encourages applications for Chevening scholarships from candidates who reflect the full diversity of Vietnamese society. The Embassy welcomes applications from all provinces of Vietnam, including candidates from ethnic minority groups and people with disabilities. We will offer support for individuals with specific needs throughout the application process and, if successful, beyond.
