An inspection of the Vulnerable Persons Resettlement Scheme is underway and will evaluate the efficiency and effectiveness of the scheme. The scope will examine the:

  • process for selecting refugees for resettlement in the UK
  • efforts to integrate those resettled (such as access to employment and education)
  • progress made towards delivering the target of resettling 20,000 refugees by 2020

This inspection will not examine unaccompanied children, other schemes (Vulnerable Children, Gateway and Mandate) and Family Reunion under the Immigration Rules.

The evidence gathering process is already underway and input will shortly be requested from the inspectorate’s established stakeholder groups. In addition, evidence in written format is welcomed and encouraged by other stakeholders who the inspectorate does not routinely engage with. If you are interested with providing written evidence please contact us at chiefinspector@icinspector.gsi.gov.uk.
