In anticipation of the Paralympic Games in Rio de Janeiro this September, UK Sport and the Boccia International Sport Federation (BISFed) launched a campaign to grow Boccia worldwide, a sport which has been part of the Paralympics since 1984.

In Ecuador, the British Embassy Quito delivered 15 sets of Boccia equipment to the Ecuadorean Sports Federation for Persons with Physical Disabilities (FEDEPDIF). Ambassador Patrick Mullee visited the Quitumbe Sports Arena in Quito, where young people train twice a week and delivered the equipment. The Ambassador also joined in a game of Boccia and enjoyed a great time with the boys and girls present.
