Children’s social care national practice group
The group has been established to help the government set national direction for practice in local authority children’s social care.
The children’s social care national practice group brings together experts in practice, evidence, lived experience and multi-agency working to share advice, expertise and practice leadership.
The group supported the development of the children’s social care national framework, which was issued in December 2023 as new statutory guidance.
Background
The national children’s social care framework builds on responses to:
- independent review of children’s social care
- independent Child Safeguarding Practice Review Panel’s review into the murders of Arthur Labinjo-Hughes and Star Hobson
- Competition and Markets Authority’s report into the children’s social care market
