Consultation description

The Copyright (free public showing or playing) (Amendment) Regulations 2016 came into force on 15 June 2016. The Regulations removed “film” from the list of exceptions in Section 72 of the Copyright, Designs and Patents Act 1988 (CDPA).

The Secretary of State must conduct a review of the Regulations within five years of the legislation coming into force. The government will publish a report based on the outcome of this review.

The call for views is a chance for interested parties to provide evidence to help inform the review. The document includes a series of questions to guide your response.
