Public electric vehicle charge points: cyber security
Consultation description
This consultation seeks views on proposals for a consistent baseline of cyber security for public electric vehicle (EV) charge points sold in Great Britain (GB).
Our proposals include:
- requiring public EV charge points sold or installed in GB to comply with the cyber security standard ETSI 303 645 (PDF)
- potentially allowing an alternative compliance route through the cyber security standard EN 18031
- requiring public EV charge points sold or installed in GB to be built with physical anti-tamper protections
- requiring public EV charge points sold or installed in GB to be fitted with electricity meters that comply with the Measuring Instruments Regulations (2016)
