Implementing amendments to the Capital Requirements Directive
Consultation description
The Government consulted on its proposals for implementing Directive 2009/111/EC (CRD2) which makes amendments to the Capital Requirements Directive.
No concerns were raised in response to the consultation about the Treasury’s proposed approach to implementation. However, certain technical and drafting changes have been made to the version of the Regulations published for consultation.
The Capital Requirements (Amendment) Regulations 2010 were made on 28 October 2010 and come into force on 31 December 2010.
The Financial Services Authority (FSA) are responsible for making rules implementing those elements of CRD2 which do not fall on HM Treasury to implement.
