Detail of outcome

In November 2014, the government launched a consultation on the future need for the tariff classification helpline.

This document summarises the main comments received from respondents and outlines the government’s response to these, including details of a change in service delivery from a helpline to an email enquiry service.

The government remains committed to providing support for those customers who need extra help when classifying goods for import or export purposes.

The government is grateful to those who participated in this consultation.
