Consultation description

Since taking responsibility for the Construction Price and Cost Indices (CPCIs) on 1 April 2015, the Office for National Statistics (ONS) has developed an interim construction output price index to satisfy user needs while the development of a long-term solution for new price indices takes place.

The responses to this consultation, in conjunction with the advice provided by the Construction Statistics Steering Group, are helping us to form the steps we will take to develop a long-term solution for CPCIs. We are now at a point, where we need to discover more on the price statistics that users want and why, along with details on why these statistics are important to them.
