See Inside Manufacturing

Documents related to the programme that aims to change young people’s perception of manufacturing.

See Inside Manufacturing (SIM) is a partnership between Department for Business, Innovation and Skills (BIS) and industry.

Manufacturers are asked to open their doors to students, teachers and career advisors by organising visits to their facilities. The aim is to change young people’s perceptions and help them ‘see behind the scenes’ of the UK’s manufacturing success.

Starting in 2011, it has grown to include a wide range of manufacturing sectors. Last year over 7,300 young people and their teachers took part.
