Precision breeding register: notices and decisions

Release notices, marketing notices and related decisions on the precision bred status of organisms.

Release and marketing of precision bred organisms in England are covered by the Genetic Technology (Precision Breeding) Act 2023 and the Genetic Technology (Precision Breeding) Regulations 2025.

Currently, only precision bred plants can be released or marketed in England.

Precision breeding marketing notices

Defra has received the following precision breeding marketing notices.

Each notice includes details of the marketing notice, advice received by the Secretary of State from the Advisory Committee on Releases to the Environment (ACRE), the Secretary of State’s decision as to the precision bred status of that organism and any related enforcement notices.
