Association of Economic Crime Professionals

The Association of Economic Crime Professionals (AECP) is a partnership between City of London Police and Home Office.

City of London Police and Home Office will launch the AECP in 2027 to bring together all those across the UK’s public, private and voluntary sectors who work to tackle economic crime. Economic crime related topic areas include fraud, money laundering, anti-corruption, illicit finance and financial sanctions.

The AECP will help to:

  • encourage more people to start, or change to, a career in tackling economic crime
  • support people already working in the field by giving them better opportunities to learn, develop and progress
  • bring together experts from different organisations and sectors to share knowledge and work together
  • promote personal growth and career satisfaction, through helping people build the skills they need to tackle economic crime effectively

AECP members will have access to information, training and opportunities to support their career development. This will include:

  • role profiles, career pathways and skills frameworks that show how to progress in economic crime roles
  • mentoring, networking, internships, secondments and volunteering opportunities
  • better access to new learning resources and training courses
  • opportunities to work with people from different organisations and sectors to share knowledge and experience
