Elizabeth

Ingeus helped me every step of the way. I was delighted when I heard I had got the job.

Elizabeth took time out of working life to raise a family and thought that getting a job after being unemployed for 17 years would be a huge struggle. However, thanks to the support of the Work Programme advisers at Ingeus she has returned to work sooner than she ever thought possible.

Elizabeth is now a supervisor at Amigo Stores in the Royal Victoria Infirmary in Newcastle and it’s a job she loves even though she initially found the prospect daunting.

I wondered how I would cope, having been outside employment for so long – I need not have worried.

Elizabeth’s advisers helped her develop a CV and worked with her to improve her self confidence. She was about to embark on a course to learn interview techniques when she was invited for an interview at the organisation who own the catering concessions at the hospital. She soon heard that she had landed the job. Now at work, Elizabeth has made new friends and actually looks forward to going to hospital every day!

The Work Programme is part funded by the European Social Fund.
