Almost £18 million for transport improvements in the Tees Valley (Levelling Up Fund 2)

Funding from the Levelling Up Fund has been allocated for cycling and walking routes in the Tees Valley 

Cycling and walking improvements 

A significant transport investment in the Tees Valley will help make cycling and walking a more accessible travel option for local people.  

The improvements include:  

  • 9 new routes throughout Darlington, Stockton, Middlesbrough, Redcar, Saltburn and Hartlepool 
  • secure parking facilities  
  • 15 cycle stands 

These improvements will integrate with public transport and improve access to bus and rail.

Levelling Up funding will support phase 2 of the Tees Valley Local Cycling and Walking Infrastructure plan
