£20 million for Oldham Green projects (Levelling Up Fund 2)
Levelling Up Funding of £20 million was awarded to Oldham for 3 projects in the town.
The Green Shoots Centre
A new business centre will be created at Rhodes Bank for sustainable businesses to grow and develop. The centre will be powered by net-zero energy sources.
Northern Roots Learning Centre
A new education offer will be created at Northern Roots, the UK’s largest urban farm and eco park.
This will be used to teach vocational courses and improve environmental skills.
The Oldham Greenway
Levelling Up funding will also be used to create a cyclist and pedestrian route. The Greenway will link the Green Shoots Centre, Northern Roots and the town centre Jubilee Park; encouraging active travel in the area.
