Call for evidence description

This call for evidence is part of a process to establish a more secure evidence base for professional development for those teaching in the FE sector. It focuses on initial teacher education (ITE) and early professional development phases.

This is an opportunity to provide evidence that will inform the development of new guidance on training course quality and content for all providers of FE ITE in England.

We want to collect evidence from individuals and organisations with a range of knowledge and expertise. We anticipate that this will include:

  • those delivering ITE qualifications for FE teachers
  • providers of personal development programmes for new and early career teachers
  • those delivering the Learning and Skills Teacher Apprenticeship
  • organisations responsible for developing ITE qualifications
  • individuals with oversight of ITE and new teacher support programmes
  • pedagogy and education experts
  • research organisations
  • education charities
