Details

This assessment reviews how effective and robust current flood event management plans are in the UK, the Netherlands and France and assesses methods to improve these plans. It develops evidence and a framework for improvement to support flood event management planning in the future.

This project:

  • evaluates the current tools and technical systems used for flood event management planning and the ability of these tools to support future flood event emergency planning to reduce residual risk - mainly loss of life
  • establishes how existing tools (guidelines, models) can be used to improve emergency management plans for floods and whether there are any gaps in the range of tools that are available
  • provides a framework by which flood incident management can be improved

This project ran from 2009 to 2011.
