Details

This project focused on how critical services such as energy, water, sewage and other services are affected by and protected during floods. The research was carried out by CIRIA and builds on previous work on flood resilience. It aimed to address the issues raised by severe flooding, such as in 2007.

The resulting report:

  • outlines the key challenges facing providers of infrastructure
  • gives case studies of lessons learnt from previous flooding
  • provides guidance on flood resilience measures that should be adopted - part of plans to manage asset management and strategies for adaptation

This project started in November 2008 and was completed in November 2010.
