This project combined desk research, stakeholder interviews and an expert panel to assess when and how well ex-post evaluation is being used to assess FCERM strategy plans and schemes. This included what the barriers are to it being used, and how this practice could be improved.

Phase 1 of the research examined the current practice and how it could be improved without putting an additional burden on risk management authorities. For example, through improved guidance. Phase 2 involved developing methods and tools to support ex-post evaluation and applying them to two case study schemes.

This project was started in 2015 and completed in the same year, at a cost of £70,055.
