Increasing understanding of flood risks and the impacts of flooding is important for improving community resilience to flood events. Public understanding and acceptance of flood risk is improved when flooded communities share their experiences with communities that do not experience flooding.

This research focuses on communities in Gloucestershire with a history of past extreme flooding events. Through a selection of 21 short videos, it demonstrates the:

  • impact of floods
  • ways of coping with floods
  • ways that a community can positively respond to reduce risk in the future

This project ran from 2014 to 2015.
