Utilization, potential and conservation of Agathis, a genus of tropical Asian conifers

Abstract

Agathis, kauri pine, is a genus of moderately fast-growing conifers, mainly of the tropical Far East, which produce a valuable timber and the resin Manila copal. Current knowledge and research in progress on its ecology, timber, resin, cultivation, seed storage, vegetative propagation, future potential and conservation are summarized.
