Abstract

Information on the costs of construction of surfaced and unsurfaced roads in Africa, from a range of sources, is presented. It is concluded that it is almost impossible to find good estimates of road construction and maintenance costs, and that there is wide variation.

This resource was produced by TI-UP – a DFID-funded resource centre for technology, infrastructure and urban planning, managed by IMC Worldwide Ltd.
