Abstract

This report looks at the potential social, economic and cultural impact of the proposed Waitukubuli National Trail. Without question, the answers to many of the questions posed about the potential impact of the trail will depend on the manner in which the Waitukubuli National Trail Project is implemented and later managed. This has been confirmed by the experiences described in a companion report done on the long-distance trails in Guadeloupe and Martinique (Renard 2001).
