Abstract

This presentation describes a meeting of the Artemisinin Consortium (set up by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation to explore ways of increasing the supply of and thus decreasing the cost of artemisinin derivatives and their synthetic equivalents) held on 19 June 2007. Participants came from the organizations that make up the Consortium, from pharmaceutical companies and from the WHO; the meeting addressed questions of current supply and current quality and regulatory issues.
