This analysis provides insights into the solar TV market in East Africa through the eyes of consumers

Abstract

Solar TVs can improve the quality of life of off-and weak-grid families, yet little is known about how customers view, value, and interact with their TV. Between June 2018 and June 2019, Efficiency for Access partnered with 60 Decibels to survey 2,370 Global LEAP Awards results-based financing customers in East Africa. This analysis provides insights into the solar TV market in East Africa through the eyes of consumers and preliminary evidence of the positive social impacts of solar TVs.
