Abstract

This study presents some of the main results from Wave 5 of the Tanzania Enterprise Survey conducted between January-February 2002, which covered a total of 192 manufacturing enterprises in 6 main industrial locations in Tanzania. These results build upon the comparable data collected in the first 4 waves of the survey which were undertaken between 1992 – 1999. Efforts were made to revisit as many of the same firms last interviewed in 1999 as possible.
