The income structure and willingness to undertake dual practice by hospital professional technical staff
Abstract
There are three hospitals investigated including one at provincial level, one at city level and one at country level. The total number of questionnaires issues to medical doctors was 661, and 536 effective feedback questionnaires were analysed. The results indicated that the average income of provincial doctors is 2630 Yuan equal to 318 US$;: 1512 Yuan 182 US$) in city hospitals, and 1687 Yuan 203 US$) in district hospitals. The monthly salary accounts for 68% of the total income, bonus payments account for 27%, and welfare is 21%, the DP income is just 3%. Most doctors are not satisfied with their current income 81.2%, 72.3% and 74.2% in provincial, city and country hospitals) and they are searching for opportunities for dual practice to increase their income. And district hospital doctors need an increase in their salary because they lack the opportunity to carry out dual practice.
