Abstract

This helpdesk report addresses these questions:

What evidence exists concerning the (sub-)sectors within developing economies where:

  • complying with existing standards used in international trade pose the greatest costs/barriers to potential export opportunities?

  • adopting existing standards or developing new standards for use in international trade have, or could, catalyse potential export opportunities?
