The evolving HIV epidemic and discourse
Abstract
This presentation by STRIVE Research Director Charlotte Watts gives a general overview of how the HIV epidemic is evolving in the context of the global economy. The presentation was given at a workshop hosted by DFID with the AIDS Consortium, to review the UK government Position Paper on AIDS, Towards Zero Infections.
Watts' presentation looks at how HIV financing has been affected by shifting global priorities and outlines a number of pressing structural barriers to HIV prevention and service uptake. It also offers programme examples that achieve value for money by producing multiple outcomes with single investment. .
