Technical solutions to NRM constraints in the charlands context - A report on project experiences.

Abstract

The DFID-NRSP funded CHAR project aimed to develop a consensus building process among the char dwellers for better natural resource (soil/crop, water and animal) management to reduce vulnerability and conflicts among various resource user groups. To engage the char people in a socio-institutional process, Participatory Technology Development (PTD) was considered as an entry point in the village to address various livelihood and farming issues. This report details several agricultural activities as examples of PTD for char dwellers in Bangladesh.
