Abstract

The Anniversary Conference was comprised of a one-day workshop followed by a one-day conference. Carrying a theme of \"Equity for a Small Planet,\" the purpose of this event was to convene an International Forum that would consider the dynamic interactions between processes of globalization and efforts to protect local livelihoods, with an emphasis on perspectives from the South, and to clarify many of the critical issues and emerging priorities to be forwarded for consideration at the 2002 World Summit on Sustainable Development (WSSD) in Johannesburg.
