The workshops aim to help understanding of policy constraints faced by farmers in livestock health products
Abstract
In India, provision of livestock health services is a state subject and a public function but marginalised and small female and male farmers keeping goats and poultry do not have access to quality livestock health products and services either from public or from private sector. They are also not aware of their entitlements and there is a need for them to be organized to get their voice heard in the policy-making processes.
Greater inclusion workshops were organized with the objective of understanding the policy constraints faced by farmers in the provision of and access to livestock health products and explore how they can be empowered and supported to get their voice heard in the policymaking processes.
