Abstract

The Sudan has a long history of agricultural research. During the last century, more than one hundred new crop varieties were released and many recommendations of agro-technologies for yield enhancement approved. However, very limited impact has been registered from the outputs. The rapid appraisal described in this report was conducted to determine the main reasons for the apparent lack of uptake and utilization of results from research in soil and water management.
