Strategic Researchable Constraints for Participatory Forest Management. Final report.

Abstract

Many countries are now implementing or experimenting with some form of Participatory Forest Management (PFM). However, while there has been some sysnthesis of experience, and some dissemination of lessons learned from PFM initiatives around the world, it has not always focussed on a critical appraisal of the process and the problems encountered. This research set out to identify the problems and ascertain whether such problems are situation-specific or whether they could be overcome by strategic research interventions.
