Abstract

Two categories of outputs from the project are reported on:

  1. Insecurity and Welfare Regimes in Developing Countries: East Asia, Latin America, Africa and Bangladesh, together with models of multi-tiered welfare systems on a regional and international basis.

  2. Securing Development- Exclusion, Adverse Incorporation and Security Strategies: social exclusion; generational bargains; vulnerability and coping; insecurity and search for security; clientelism and governance; institutional responsibility; social rights, citizenship and correlative duties; de-commodification for development.
