Social accountability and service delivery.

Abstract

Following a consideration of the questions 'What is social accountability and why is it important?' and 'What makes collective action to improve service delivery more likely?' the policy implications of research conducted by the Centre for the Future State on social accountability and service delivery are outlined. Collective actors and reform of the healthcare and social assistance sectors in Brazil are discussed in more detail.
