This helpdesk request report was asked to address this query:

  • To conduct a desk review of existing research on skills, employment and productivity, especially in the ready-made garments and construction sectors in Bangladesh and also more widely in South Asia and South East Asia. When discussing the links between skills and productivity, the requester would like to understand the impact and implications both for the individuals, as well as the firm that employs the individual.
