Chapter 2 of the guidelines provides general advice for the development of co-management practices for floodplain river fisheries. Chapter 3 of the guidelines concentrates on the use of harvest reserves in river fisheries. Both social and technical criteria are given for the selection of appropriate water-bodies, and for their management.
