Abstract

This chapter is drawn from a longer paper given by John Gaventa at a Citizenship DRC conference in 2005. It argues that neoliberalism and globalisation are radically reshaping the terrain of citizenship in a way that challenges our understandings of how citizenship is constructed and the sites in which it is claimed.
